The Global Psychology Learning Leadership Institute (LLI) began in 2021 as a Presidential Initiative of APA 2020 President, Sandra Shullman, PhD, with the support of the Global Psychology Alliance (GPA). The LLI brings together established and emerging leaders in the field from across the world with the aim of creating a leadership pipeline and ensuring the voices of future leaders of psychology are represented in global efforts. Through cross-cultural mentorship, engagement with expert speakers and invited guests, the development of leadership projects, and contributions to the 2022 International Summit on Psychology and Global Health: Leadership for Emerging Challenges, young leaders from GPA associations continue to impact their countries, expand the global psychology community, and shape the direction of our science and profession alongside established leaders in the field.
